It is that time of year again, when the air becomes cool and crisp and the leaves on the trees turn beautiful colors. With October behind us it is time to start cleaning up the outside of our homes and our yards. The amount of cleanup needed can often be overwhelming, especially with the holidays looming in front of us. Here are some things we recommend taking care of before it gets colder outside.
1: Rake and Remove Leaves
The leaves are pretty and the constant images of children and pets diving into piles of them is so fun but they don’t just fall into piles on their own. Raking leaves is A LOT of work!
2: Clean Your Gutters
It is very important to have those gutters cleaned out before the chance of any snow or ice to prevent the dirt and debris in them from freezing.
3. Drain Hoses and Sprinklers
This is a simple task yet something that is often missed or forgotten. Try to get this done before the weather gets cold. It is much easier to drain the water out of your hoses when they aren’t stiff from the cold.
4. Clean up Flower Beds
Remember all of the hard work you did to get those flower beds ready in the spring time? Well, it’s time to do it once again before the weather gets cold. It is important to pull out any annuals that were planted as well as any weeds to keep your beds and soil healthy. This will also give you less work to do in the spring.
5. Clean the Exterior
This is the perfect time to get some power washing done on the exterior of your home. Why not give your home a fresh start and make it sparkle and shine for your holiday guests?
